Do students need to bring their own art supplies?

Basic art materials for regular studio classes are provided. Families will be notified in advance if a particular project or digital art class requires additional supplies or equipment.

What is required for a digital art class?

Students need an iPad, an Apple Pencil, and the Procreate app. Depending on the student’s age, experience, and drawing foundation, we may recommend beginning with a traditional studio class before joining digital art.

What should my child wear?

Please have your child wear comfortable clothing that can get stained. Although students may wear aprons, paint and other art materials can still come into contact with clothing.

May parents stay during class?

During the first visit, parents may stay briefly while the student settles in and receives an introduction. Once class begins, we ask parents to wait outside the studio so students can focus and participate independently.

How large are the classes?

Chelsey Art Studio offers small-group classes so that each student can receive thoughtful, individualized instruction. Class size varies depending on the student’s age and program.

Can my child participate if English is not their first language?

Yes. Art instruction includes demonstrations and visual explanations, allowing students with different levels of English proficiency to participate. We help each child become comfortable with the class at their own pace.

What is the difference between Studio Classes and Atelier Classes?

Studio Classes focus on foundational art skills and guided projects. Atelier Classes are for students who are ready for more advanced, independent work and deeper artistic growth.

MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY

* One make-up class is allowed per student each month.* Requests must be emailed at least 48 hours in advance.* Make-up classes must be completed within 30 days and are subject to availability and studio approval.* Same-day cancellations and no-shows are not eligible.* Make-up classes cannot be rescheduled, carried over, refunded, or credited.

Do you offer birthday parties and summer camps?

Yes. In addition to weekly art classes, we offer birthday parties and summer camps for children who want a creative experience outside regular classes.
