Director • Artist-Educator

Chelsey is an artist-educator with over 15 yearsof experience teaching children's art. She helps young artists build strong foundations in drawing and painting while developing their own way ofseeing, thinking, and expressing ideas.

She studied at Hongik University's Division of Art and Design in Korea, and later earned two master's degrees from Academy of Art Universityin San Francisco: New Media and Motion Picture& Television.

Her background in visual design, film, painting, and contemporary media brings abroad creative perspective to art education. Before opening Chelsey Art Studio, Chelsey served as the founding director of children's art programs in Palo Alto and Los Altos. Starting from empty studio spaces, she built the programs from the ground up-developing the curriculum, class structure, student placement system, exhibitions, studio setup, and daily operations. Under her leadership, the programs grew to more than 100 students.

 

Her students have received multiple first-place awards across international, U.S. national, and local youth art competitions, including theNed Smith Center for Nature Art Contest and the Art of Conservation® Songbird Art Contest.

Chelsey continues her own work as an artist through painting, visual storytelling, and contemporary media. This dual perspectives both artist and educator shapes a thought fuland well-rounded learning environment for young artists.

Chelsey brings together artistic depth, strong foundations, and a contemporary creative perspective - helping young artists build skill, confidence, curiosity, and a visual voice of their own.
